Bernard Lee Long is a true NQ local born in Innisfail and began playing piano, guitar and drums but found that bass was his instrument. He started playing professionally at the age of 15.Bernard opened Bernie’s Jazz Piano Café -Cairns' 1st & only dedicated jazz club & piano bar. His father, Bernie (Snr) sadly passed away at the age of 80 was an icon in the North Queensland Music Scene. Bernard is an active promoter of Jazz and Blues with the Cairns Tropic Jazz Club.

 

Harry Rivers was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa.  His father and brothers were all musicians and at the age of 18 Harry moved to Australia with an “all Maori show band” and worked the Sydney club circuit before embarking on a world-wide tour. He did gigs throughout Asia and then went to London and toured Europe. Eight years ago he came up to Cairns “for a three month break”. Like many others who come to Cairns for a “holiday”, Harry stayed.

Tom Verevis born is Cairns has been playing piano from the age of 6. He started playing professionally in his teens with local bands, toured Japan and SE Asia. An accomplished pianist who is in high demand with influences of Keith Jarrett, Oscar Peterson and Count Basie. Tom plays with a multitude of colour with passion and finesse.
